Born and raised in McHenry County Illinois, I spent time in McHenry, Crystal Lake and Harvard and graduated from Marian Central Catholic High School in 1986. Then, just after high school I grabbed my flip flops, loaded my car and moved to the sunny south. I spent 26 years in central Alabama, more specifically Trussville. I received my real estate license in 1993 and enjoyed building a successful business for 16 years in sales and the last 4 as a managing broker for the number 1 sales office in Trussville.
Through the years I enjoyed being a coach, mentor and trainer to the agents I was involved with. I taught pre-license and post-license classes, wrote an Alabama license law CE course and taught the e-PRO certification for REBAC. I was appointed to the Alabama Real Estate Commission Education Advisory Task Force, I received a prestigious honor as the Birmingham Association of REALTORS Broker of the Year, served as the Women’s Council of REALTORS Birmingham Chapter and Alabama State chapter past president and enjoyed so many years of involvement at the Birmingham Association of REALTORS and the Alabama Association of REALTORS.
My path has now brought me back home to McHenry County. Upon moving home I began working as a Commercial Account Executive at Suddath Relocation Systems of Chicago providing moving and storage solutions for businesses of all kinds.
Fast forward a year and I knew I had to follow my passion. I started my Illinois real estate career as part of Team Open Doors of ReMax Plaza. Specializing in being a buyers representative as teammate Kim Keefe specializes on the listing side and also a licensed assistant who keeps us in line, Theresa Szmurlo. After a year of getting recharged in sales I decided I wanted to work not just with buyers but also on the listing side of the transaction too.
So I am now working as a solo agent but with a great support team at all of our RE/MAX Plaza locations, as well as a team of specialists to photograph my properties and do great signage.
On my more personal side, I have an awesome son who is a nurse practitioner in Birmingham and he is married to a beautiful southern belle. They blessed me with a beautiful, healthy baby girl October 4, 2015! I have the greatest guy in my life who was an integral part in my decision to move back home, we married November 8, 2014. I have a new found joy of running, I love wine of all kinds (2 buck chuck is my fave) and I believe in Cinderella’s quote “One Shoe Can Change Your Life” …. so I just keep buying them because I love change!!!!!
Stay tuned for my irregular postings……
